Advocating for the Young Reader

Parents Advancing Reading Transformations (P.A.R.T.) is a program designed to build on parents’ strengths by offering literacy-based learning opportunities that enhance their ability to support early literacy at home, strengthen their role as community leaders in education, and deepen connections with schools.

The goal of P.A.R.T. is to equip families with resources and information to:

  • Gain confidence to support and advocate for your child’s learning.

  • Understand how your child learns to read and how you can help at each stage.

  • Build literacy-rich homes that are fun and engaging for children.

  • Share tips and strategies to help your child with reading based on their unique needs.

  • Connect with other parents who understand the challenges of supporting kids with reading.

  • Access fun, easy-to-use activities and resources to try at home with your child.

This program is a safe and inclusive space for all community members. Any information shared in this registration form will remain confidential and only be used to help us better support families and students.

This program will be conducted in English and Spanish.

Free childcare is available for children aged birth to 9. Spaces are limited.
